Making a rat
- Base StatsThe four stats every roll goes through: Reflex, Instinct, Rage, Guts. Plus where health points come from.
- RacesRat, Pigeon or Raccoon, on a d6. Their traits, their stat swings, and how you roll the four numbers.
- NestsWhere your shitty buddy comes from, on a d6. Sets one stat swing and what's already in your pockets.
- NamesTwo d20 columns. Column A plus Column B and you have a name. Moist Tongue. Swollen Cheese.
At the table
- Darts & Tail MarySix darts is Nicotine Nirvana™. The asphyxiation ladder for smoking them back to back, and the one reroll you get.
- ScavengingThe city provides, reluctantly. How the GM picks the loot die and which table your dig lands on.
- Status EffectsThe conditions the tables keep handing out. A reference, not a roll: these get applied to you.
- Profane PassagesThe only way to get a spell, and a coin-flip with death. Roll Instinct against DR 12, or DR 14 if you're a pigeon.
The tables
- WeaponsEighteen ways to hit something, rolled on a d20. Melee, ranged, thrown, and one bear trap you have to set first.
- ToolsTwelve bits of junk that do something other than hit. Rolled on a d20 when you scavenge.
- FoodThree things you can eat to heal, rolled on a d6. Everything else you swallow is a gamble.
- ConsumablesThe things you shouldn't put in your body, plus a few you should. Rolled on a d20.
- ArmourEight things to hide behind. Each rolls its own die to soak a hit instead of raising an AC.
- SpellsTwenty Profane Passages. Reading one is a coin-flip with death; succeed and you cast one of these.
